the man asked: I read that the key to wealth is the ability to turn earned income or money you work for into passive income, incremental money you receive each month or on some recurring basis that you dont work for. Though that sounds great in theory how does it work in practice? I know rental income is a form of passive income. Can anyone think of other ways to make money that is not tied to your labor?

jdlifsey2030 asked: The Democrats say we should increase taxes on the rich by raising income taxes. Doesn’t being rich mean you have a lot of assets? Should be people that earn a lot of money be taxed higher even though they may not have accumulated any wealth (yet)? Isn’t there a difference between people how EARN a lot of money and those those that HAVE a lot of money?

discombobulated asked: I mean any time the tax rates are adjusted be they up or down it’s redistributing the wealth. So why is only okay to lower taxes but never to raise them ? Is it not socialism to lower taxes as well ? I mean by lowering taxes you are in essence letting that tax bracket have more wealth.

Viv asked: I read an answer to someone’s question that said that since we dropped the gold standard, our wealth doesn’t mean anything. Yeah, that means our national debt is imaginary. It also means that dollars and cents are just pieces of paper or numbers on a credit card bill. What if someone realizes this and everything comes crashing down?
But I suppose it also means that we work and work all the time for something…that’s all in our heads. Thoughts?

Joey O asked: I’m not necessarily looking for an answer to the question as much as some recommendations for resources.
I’m trying to find some good books on wealth distribution/economy in monarchic societies (past and present).
