Each of us is different, and our personalities and strengths determine what specialties we like. What I love might bore you to tears (Anesthesia - YAY!), and what you love might make me ill (pediatrics?)

You have to do what you love, and then find a practice situation that meets your lifestyle, wealth and happiness needs.

You’ll find what you like and don’t like when you do your clinical rotations in medical school.

Nowadays, a lot of people are into their looks, so being in this field lets you take advantage of all the filthy rich people who just want to look younger. hehehe

Becoming a doctor is no easy task. All fields of profession that entail an M.D will be difficult. Its all a matter of what you like and what makes you happy. I plan on becoming a Neurosurgeon. I was speaking with my doctor and i told him what i wanted to become. He asked me why would i want to do such a thing. He told me to stay out of Neurosurgery and undertake Invasive Radiology. Radiologists now i believe, where i live, make an estimated 200 Dollars an hour. That’s the figure my father told me, he is a paramedic, works very close with the doctors. Basically a radiologist sits at a desk for 8 hours a day looking at x rays and programming or maintaining MRI and other medical machines while at the same time printing money. Invasive Radiology i believe is the overtaking of Anaesthesiology and incorporating it with the current job description of Radiology. If i had to choose id say go for Radiology. But i personally couldn’t stand sitting at a desk for the rest of my life. Neurosurgery interested me because of its hands on requirements. Also i am fascinated about the human brain and the physiology and pathophysiology that encompasses it. But there are countless sub-fields of medicine, it’s incredible. Basically whatever you’re good at, strive towards that. That’s what i say, but hey I’m only 16…Hope that helped.
